New Directions International Business Services Pty Limited ABN 49 083 183 751 is the legal entity for the business and has been providing Building Services Engineering Services & Compliance Advice to Building Owners and their Managing Agents since established in July 1998. Prior to that, Ian Childs (Director) was employed by Institutional Property Owners and Managing Agents and conducting and submitting Annual Fire Safety Statements since their introduction in 1988 until relinquishing his accreditation as an APFS as a 74 year old finishing up on 20th July 2024
We are currently involved in the review of AS/NZS3666 Microbial Control [Legionella] suite of standards and hope to see the update published in 2026
AS1851 Essential Services Servicing & Repair is also being reviewed and hopefully this can be incorporated into legislation as well as other pertinant stadards associated with essential services measures such as AS2293.2 Service Emergency Lighting, AS1735.2 Service Lifts and Elevators and AS/NZS3009 Service Standby Power
Ian’s son, Alex who is an Accredited Practitioner Fire Safety for all measures, due to his family issues, made the choice to join Precise Fire and has been with them since February 2024.
While officially retired, with our background in Building Services Engineering and compliance we can still assist building owners and managing agents by providing some additional services commensurate to their requests, however, our Professional Indemnity Cover is in runout and we are excluded from offering additional cover.
